Emplace <\/em>welcomes contributions from high school and college students throughout the St. Louis region. Contributions to Emplace <\/em>go through a process of review, feedback, and revision before being published. That process of revision is essential for having your work published. Publishing on Emplace <\/em>is a way to share your work with readers and build a professional identity. Have a look at our Editorial Guidelines<\/a> to make sure your story is a good fit!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Review Process<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Once you submit your project using the form below, you will hear back from staff at Emplace <\/em>within four weeks. We will get in touch with you to discuss your plans for the story and any technical or editorial support you might need as we prepare your story for inclusion on the site. We will also work to develop a publication timeline with you and walk through the process of submitting the final version of your story. Usually student storytellers have a two-month window to work with the IRIS Center to complete the submitted draft of their story.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After your draft has been submitted, your story will undergo an open review process by our student editorial board. The The editorial board will submit their feedback, it will be reviewed by our staff, and then you will receive their suggestions to improve your story for final publication, usually within 6 to 8 weeks. At this time, storytellers will be given one month to make edits prior to making their final submission. The story may go through one more round of edits, with the storytellers approval prior to fina publication on the site.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
